"It's made such a difference in our temple experience"
A Chavurah is a small, intimate friendship group of temple members, like an extended family, who share life events and activities together—both in and outside of temple. Being part of a Chavurah can enhance feelings of belonging, add fun to your life, and warmth to your temple experience. Singles, couples, and families are welcome to explore Temple Chai’s Chavurah Program. Groups are generally formed with members in similar life stages.

Galilee Havurah held a brunch meeting on Sunday, Aug 14 at the home of Phyllis and Ed Merkin. Following the brunch, two eye-witness accounts of the Honor Flight World War II were given. Veteran Joe Groner told of his experiences on the day-trip to Washington DC to see the World War II memorial and other sites. Lou Ellison, retiring Commander of the Illinois Jewish War Veterans, gave an account of the rousing welcoming home at Midway Airport. The Havurah members paid rapt attention during the emotional retelling of the veterans' stories.
This trip and many others like it is a way of honoring World War II veterans. These trips are paid for by donations to Honor Flight World War II. For more information, see http://honorflightchicago.org/index.html
